Peat drench is a soil product consisting of the remains of the digestion of hundreds of different flowers, medicinal herbs, grasses and fruits. Over the course of many years, these plants have fallen into stagnant water and sunk to the bottom, after which a long-term chemical-biological process has converted the plant remains into black, lumpy peat.
The composition and properties of this peat are determined by the plants from which it originates. Furthermore, the place where the peat impregnation is extracted plays a role in relation to suitability for medicinal purposes and for animal feeding.
In Austria there is a type of peat that is referred to as "Subfossil". The characteristic of this type of peat is that it was suddenly buried under deposits of loam, sand and rock. This subfossil peat now lies metres below the earth's surface. As can be deduced from the plant species that occur in it, this peat was formed approximately 7,000 years ago.
Thanks to the continuous isolation from the outside world, this peat has been converted and matured. It is also very pure and practically germ-free. No chemicals are added to the peat, Sanafor is absolutely a pure natural product. Furthermore, the peat is extracted without damaging the landscape
Why peat drench in animal feed?
Sanafor Peat Drench is rich in easily absorbable mineral components such as iron. This is abundantly present and in the most absorbable form. In addition, Sanafor Peat Drench also contains very small amounts of manganese, copper, zinc and other trace elements. In addition, Sanofor contains substances that, even in a highly diluted form, naturally inhibit the growth of germs. Sanofor optimises the intestinal flora. Of the organic substances in Sanofor, the humic acids are very important. These have an absorbent effect and bind toxins, which are then excreted with the faeces. This particularly relieves the liver. In addition, the liver's function is stimulated. The mucous membranes are in optimum condition with Sanofor, which prevents stomach and intestinal problems and achieves better fertilisation results. Sanofor has a favourable effect on the skin metabolism.
Sanafor can be given all year round, also to pregnant and young animals. Overdosing is not possible. Given the wide variety of ingredients that work in different ways, Sanofor Peat Drench is an extremely valuable addition to dog food
And because no animal proteins, vitamins or synthetic substances have been added to Sanofor peat fertilizer, it can be added to any type of feed without any risk.
